  1. Thank you so much for all the genealogical information on your site! Thanks to you, I now know my heritage much farther back and in much greater detail on my father’s side. My father was Noble Howie, son of Andrew Howie, who was a son of Archibald Howie who was a son of James Howie, who was a son of William Howie, who was a son of William Howie. I never knew any farther back than the James I mention. So, I guess we are very distant cousins. How about that!

Is there any chance you might have more information on Jean Gilbert, born. 1733? The Gilbert name is very prominent on my mother’s side of the family, as well. I’m just wondering if there is any relation there.

Thank you again. Your extensive research work is very appreciated.

  2. Well, it seems clear your talents extend to beyond the scope of just words and grammar. Lucky you. For the fact that you can snap a decent and delightful photo, and also because of your rich background for language. I’d give my left lung for your grasp on writing.
And speaking of writing, I look forward to reading much more of yours, and wish you great luck with the two projects in the works.

    • Thank you for the kind words. I myself am a ‘wishful drinker.’ Hasn’t really worked, though, as a second career. I’ve visited your site and I think it’s fabulous! It appears to be a perfect reflection of your personality. You’re actually doing what I wanted to do (life got in the way…), publishing some books, blogging, etc. I can’t wait to try some of your recipes. I doubt that your left lung is a good bargaining chip, but I understand. You’re doing exactly what you need to do to ‘grasp’ writing–just write, every day. I love your sense of humor and your animals are adorable. I’m following you (but not in a creepy, stalkerish way).
