I Can Hear the Silence

I can hear the silence.

I can see the darkness.

I can smell the night sky.

I can hear mountains sigh.

Each time coyotes howl,

I think only of you.

I dream of heaven’s gate.

How can I ever know

Of your pre-destined fate?

You, a new coyote,

Do you still think of me,

Or am I memory?

No sight, no sound,

No smell, no touch.

No sense without.

You howl within.
